In the summer of 2024, they went to Paris with Rawle’s family for the Olympics. The original plan: cheer for Team USA, eat croissants irresponsibly, and avoid turning it into a rom-com.
That last part didn’t stick.
Very early one morning, Rawle took Sherri-Anne for a walk through the
Jardins des Grands Explorateurs. The idea was for them to “stumble upon” a street musician (planted by Rawle) playing near the
Fontaine des Quatre-Parties du Monde, then casually drift closer.
Except: Sherri-Anne refused to approach. She was worried about interrupting. This is classic Sherri-Anne—thoughtful, respectful, and, in this case, almost too polite to get engaged.
Eventually, with a little gentle nudging (and some barely disguised panic on Rawle’s part), they made it to the fountain. He proposed.
And just like that, Paris went from backdrop to milestone.
